Although, the main part that I use to claim that beast races most like could not crossbreed with man/mer is because they were created separately from man and Mer. And in fact, maybe I am wrong about the beast races, now that I think about it. Laying eggs is not exclusive to reptiles.

Beast races with man/mer would most likely not be impossible. I would think argonians and khajit could interbreed, offspring taking the mothers race.
